Australian beef production hits all time high

The trend estimate for Australia’s cattle slaughterings rose for the eighth consecutive month in February to reach 724,000—the highest figure recorded since records began in 1979.

The estimate for beef production rose for the ninth consecutive month to reach 193,000 tonnes, which was also an all time high. Estimates for sheep slaughterings declined to 1.2 million, whilst the estimates for pig slaughterings increased for the sixth consecutive month, to reach 453,000.
