Record visitor numbers at Micam

The Micam Shoevent show, held in Milan, Italy, in mid-March, attracted a record 42,879 visitors—2.9% higher than in 2006. The number of overseas visitors also improved 7.7% to reach 21,589, with a strong presence from
Commenting on the show’s success, chairman of the National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers, Rossano Soldini, said, “We are extremely pleased with these results,” adding, “They confirm the long-awaited signs of a recovery that are beginning to be seen in our sector. In fact, we believe that Micam with its unstoppable growth, has made a considerable contribution to re-launching Italian footwear manufacturing in foreign markets, together with the promotional activities carried out by ANCI.”
The event, which took place on March 15-18, presented the autumn/winter 2007/2008 collections of the 1,654 exhibitors.
