Lower turnout at Fur & Fashion Frankfurt

28/03/2007

99 exhibitors—seven fewer than at last year’s show—from 19 countries presented their autumn/winter 2007/08 leather and fur clothing collections at the 59th Fur & Fashion Frankfurt in Germany, which closed on March 25.

There was also a 10% downturn in visitor numbers, as had been seen at the preceding Hong Kong, Kastoria, and Milan shows, which was attributed to the unusually mild winter that slowed sales and left stock on shelves.

A poll of exhibitors showed that mink, Swakara, and broadtail, as well as long-haired fur for use in trims, were in the greatest demand as materials, followed by jackets, short coats, and fur accessories for apparel.
