CEO of SATRA to retire

After 38 years at UK-based technology centre SATRA CEO, Dr Ron Whittaker, who has held his current position since 1981, is to retire in June.

Richard Turner, currently deputy chief executive, will take over the role of CEO, whilst Austin Simmons, currently executive director, will become deputy chief executive from July. Mr Turner, who will only be the sixth person to hold the position of CEO during the centre’s 88-year history, joined SATRA straight from school, but left for some time to gain direct experience of adhesives and footwear manufacture before returning in 1973.
