Following a year of significant restructuring, UK-based producer of technically advanced leather for gloves, shoes, luxury leathergoods and sports equipment Pittards plc, has reported improved results for 2006. The company reduced losses to £0.5 million from £2.5 million in 2005 and from £4 million in 2004.

During the year the company closed its Leeds site in the UK, transferring part of this production capacity to its Yeovil site, and established a sub-contracting relationship with Taiwan-based Teh Chang to provide an off-shore manufacturing base. It also further advanced its management contract with a tannery in Ethiopia.
