France-based provider of CAD/CAM equipment and services for the textile, leather and industrial fabrics industry Lectra has launched its newest range of VectorAuto cutting solutions for car manufacturers and their suppliers. The products are said to help to improve flexibility, reduce the cost of production and material consumption, and ensure consistent quality.

The VectorAutoFX is suitable for short deadlines and small series production and can adapt to various material types. It is able to cut non-stop while the material is automatically loaded in the cutting area and incorporates operating software that optimises the blade path in order to guarantee the quality of cut pieces.

The VectorAutoMH and VectorAutoMH8 are designed for mass production of car seats and interiors process. Both are said to safeguard production and minimise the risk of process interruptions that can lead to costly delays and penalties. Designed for high volume cutting, they streamline the cutting process and eliminate bottlenecks that can occur in the cutting room.

The VectorAutoMX has been developed in response to increasing orders, reduced lead times and the need to optimise production. It is able to cut complex patterns with little or no buffer between cut pieces. It is also suitable for automotive suppliers working either with die cutting or with extremely high volumes as it is said to enable suppliers to accommodate design and cutting changes in a few minutes rather than the five-to-six weeks it usually takes for die boards to be produced or modified.
