Sales continue to fall at Wilsons

Sales for the for the fourth quarter and full year, ended February 3, slipped again at US specialty retailer of leather outerwear, accessories and apparel
Net sales for the fourth quarter decreased 25.7% to $133 million compared with $178.9 million for the same period in the prior year, whilst comparable store sales decreased 21.6%. Net income also declined to $12 million from $41.7 million in the comparable period in 2005.
Net sales for the full year fell 19.3% to $321.3 million from $398 million in the prior year, whilst comparable store decreased 17.2%. The company reported a net loss for the year of $33.1 million, compared with net income of $12.2 million, a year earlier.
