ChimontGroup adds value to leather

Italy-based leather research company ChimontGroup—comprising the newly-combined companies Chimont and Finimont—has launched W Thane X Top, a series of water-dispersed aliphatic polyurethanes designed to give leather a shiny, stuccoed effect similar to bi-component patent. The product is said to offer ease of application, lower production costs and less of an environmental impact.
According to the company, the new prodiuct has proved highly resistant by both wet and dry flexometer testing, and heightens refinishes such as patent and abraded.
For soft leathers it adds lustre without altering the texture of the leather. The product is also versatile as, by hot pressing with Brill Foil, transparency can be increased.
