Workshops to be held at Lineapelle
A series of workshops and courses have been organised for the upcoming Lineapelle, which will take place in
Module One, which will be held on April 17, is entitled ‘The leather-making process and the characteristics of the end products’, which will examine the features and end uses of the most frequently used raw materials as well as looking at different types of tanning and the upgrading of leather through colour and surface effects. It will also provide information on ways to recognise the various commercial leather types (including nubuck, suede, nappa, glazed, milled grain, laminated and padded leather).
Module Two, which will take place on April 18, will look at ‘Designing the language of colour: identity and emotion’. It will interpret colour trends for the spring/summer 2008 season and look at how to update a product over time. It will also provide advice on trend duration and analysing theme-based charts in order to define the concept of ‘family colour’ and the distribution of colour harmonies on various products.
The focus for Module Three, to be held on April 18, is ‘Technical standards for the leather sector and performance requirements of leathers for the various areas of use’. It will focus on tools for assessing quality and suitability of leather including technical specifications and end uses for leather products (such as footwear, leather goods, clothing, furniture and car interiors). It aims to provide a detailed description of the standards developed for the sector, analysing the performance requirements of the various types of leather they cover and the tests carried out to access conformity with these requirements.
