Having served the leather industry since 1875, Dr. Eberle Clever Chemistry GmbH is now ready to fulfil its planned development and growth, which includes the introduction of numerous new products which the company will showcase at APLF in Hong Kong on March 28-30, including the company’s new range of Ebotan eco-friendly solvent-free, biodegradable blend of polypeptides and aromatic sulphonates.

Ebotan PCC is said to be an excellent eco-friendly additive for wet white and low-Cr tanning and retanning with acrylic syntans which provides soft, full and round leather with increased the thermal stability and a smooth hand. Ebotan PCK is well-suited for chrome and vegetable tanned leathers. It is said to produce excellent filling of the loose structure without reducing the resistance of the fibre. It produces soft and full leathers with a smooth hand and gives through and through pH in neutralisation to produce uniform softness. As with Ebotan PCC, Ebotan PCW is an eco-friendly additive for wet white and low-Cr tanning and retanning with acrylic syntans which gives full and round leather. It increases thermal stability and produces soft and full leathers with a smooth hand. It produces compact nap in split suedes and disperses fat whilst simultaneously filling the loose areas during fatliquoring. It is also said to improve the break and give a round handle.

Other developments to be highlighted by Dr. Eberle will include its Licrol range of sulfited natural and synthetic oils and its Ebenin hydrophobing fatliquors.

Licrol CU is recommended for high quality car upholstery where high specifications such as heat, light, gravimetric fogging fastness and tear strength have to be achieved. Licrol PP is suitable for all types of soft and fluffy leathers, as well as fur. It can be used in pickling, tanning, retanning and in all fatliquoring mixtures as well for crust or dried wet blue. It is said to offer outstanding dyeing and levelling properties. Licrol SF is also suitable for all types of soft and fluffy leathers, especially for high specification automotive leathers. It produces an even and deep penetration as well as good lightfastness and heat resistance.

Ebenin HE is a hydrophobing fatliquor for softies and garment leathers. It provides a very good hydrophobing effect, excellent lightfastness and heat resistance, and produces a full handle. Ebenin HL has very good softening properties making it well-suited to shoe uppers. It is said to provide a very good hydrophobing effect, excellent lightfastness, heat resistance and produces a full handle with a waxy feel. Ebenin SME is a water repellant agent for top-hydrophobing, which can be used with the company’s hydrophobing fatliquors to achieve different grades of hydrophobing.
