New appointments at VW and Audi

Flavio Manzoni has been appointed as head of Creative Design at the Volkswagen Group, effective March 1. He will report to Walter Maria de’Silva who became head of Group Design on February 1.
Mr Manzoni served as head of Interior Design at Lancia until 1999 and held the same role at Seat until 2002, when he resumed responsibility for Fiat Design, Lancia Design and Fiat Group Light Commercial Vehicles Design. He moved to Design at the Audi brand group in December 2006.
In addition, Wolfgang Josef Egger will become Audi Group head of Design on May 1, succeeding Walter Maria de’Silva. Mr Egger began his career in 1989 as a designer at Alfa Romeo. Management roles in design took him to Seat nine years later and to Lancia in 2001. Most recently, Mr Egger was head of Design at Alfa Romeo.
