Leathergoods sales rise at Fossil

20/02/2007

US-based watchmaker and leathergoods company Fossil, Inc. has reported higher fourth quarter net sales for the thirteen-week period, ended January 6.

Net sales increased 20.5% to reach $390.8 million whilst net income reached $38.2 million.

Sales in Europe increased 20.8% whilst other international sales rose 43.5%, including approximately $5.8 million in net sales from the company’s Mexico operation that was acquired last February. Net sales from the accessories business rose 5.7% compared with the prior year quarter with sales volume growth reported in both women’s and men’s leather products. This improvement was partially offset by a decline in sales at Fossil eyewear.
