Italy-based leather research companies Chimont and Finimont have been reorganised into one company, ChimontGroup, a new entity that unites the two companies’ individual specialities to offer more complete market solutions.

With a history that dates back to the early 20th century, Chimont was established as a research laboratory in the 1960s. However, as a result of the increased demand for refinishing products, Chimont created Finimont at the end of the 1980s, a highly specialised business involved in research and its application to new fashion trends. Now in the 21st century, the two companies have been combined to form ChimontGroup in order to be able to offer their customers a wider range of services under one company name.

No staff changes have been made to the companies. Remo Petroselli remains at the head of the team, which is made up of experts and technicians who collaborate with international researchers.
