Footwear fails quality checks

Following a random inspection conducted in large supermarkets by the government of the Zhejiang province in China
, only 30% of the imported shoes on sale passed quality checks, based on the benchmark set by the Chinese footwear industry. As a result of the breach of quality controls, the stores involved have all been fined and the countries from which the footwear was imported have been informed.
