12/02/2007

The organisers of The WSA Show, held earlier in February, have deemed the event a great success having recorded a rise in both participants and exhibition space compared with the February 2006 show. On a year-over-year basis, participation increased 8% from 34,515 to 37,279, whilst exhibition space was expanded by 3%, from 1,080,500 square feet to 1,112,000 square feet.

The show is said to have attracted more than 85% of the top footwear retailers in the USA, while international attendance reached 26.5% of total attendees from 24% in 2006.

Following discussions with the attendees and exhibitors the organisers have also made the decision to change the format of the show from a four-day event to a three-day event as of August 2007, they are also currently reviewing the dates for the February 2008 in order to better suit the needs of the industry.
