Stahl to present 80 leathers at Anpic

02/02/2007

A collection of approximately 80 retanned and finished leathers will be promoted by Netherlands-based leather chemical company Stahl at ANPIC, which will be held in Guanajuato, Mexico, on February 17-20. The finishes will be based on the concepts created at its new Design Studio in Milan, Italy, and will reflect the company’s forecast of fashion tendencies and colours through to the end of summer 2008.

The highlight will be the new XR-13-906 carbodiimide crosslinker; a solvent-free, water-based product used in finishes for automotive and shoe upper leathers which is free from solvent-type hazards.

Wet end products used in processing some of the leathers on display will include two Salem oils—Salem LCN, an oil used for high resistance to ultra-violet light; and Salem SN-M, an oil that promotes softness and results in very ‘light’ leathers. A retanning and dispersing agent, Synektan SN-M, will also be used to produce some of the leathers.

Finishing products will include FI-1895, a wax used to create burnished effects; FI-21-1909, a filling agent for improving selection upgrading; MA-13-605, a resin for improving adhesion; and PT-6591, a penetrator that helps application on difficult leathers.

These products will be used to create a display including classics such as soft nappas, floaters, patent, metallised and printed effects. A selection of bags, belts, shoes and furniture will be used to demonstrate how the leathers look as finished products.
