CLIA launches English Genuine Leather Mark

01/02/2007

The China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) has launched the English version of its Genuine Leather Mark, a certified trademark which ensures that the material is largely made from genuine leather, the product is of good quality, the manufacturer offers good after-sales service and that production is environmentally-conscious and socially responsible.

The launch of the English label aims to promote good quality and value-added products to foreign purchasers and to boost China’s leather industry in a socially responsible way. By the end of 2006, the number of products with the trademark had increased to more than 450 including shoes, leather garments and suitcases.

The label is equipped with an advanced anti-counterfeiting logo which will enable customers to identify genuine goods and protect the reputation of Chinese brands. It will be promoted at the Asia Pacific Leather Fair in Hong Kong, WSA Shoe Show in Las Vegas, the 10th Russia International Leather & Fur Exhibition in Moscow and the All China Leather Exhibition/China International Footwear Fair/Moda Shanghai in Shanghai.
