Chinese leather and fur supplier Haining China Leather Market and Danish fur auction house Copenhagen Fur have signed an agreement to set up the Haining-Copenhagen Fur Academy in order to train professionals in fur sales.

The academy will offer professional training to managers and sales staff from fur retailers, and will provide technical training in the properties of fur, store design and sales techniques to enhance their overall professional knowledge and performance.

Haining China Leather Market is the largest leather garment market in China with over 2,000 stores and is said to attract over 50,000 consumers a day during the high season. Over 1,300 fur stores operate in the market which are said to sell approximately 100,000 fur garments per annum.

Officials from the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) said the new academy would create a win-win situation for both parties involved as it will enhance Haining’s sales whilst providing an easy portal for Copenhagen Fur to promote its goods in the Chinese market.
