The Indian Council for Leather Exports (CLE) has issued tenders for the upgrade and implementation of Reverse Osmosis Systems (RO) in CETPs at Perundurai in the Erode District and Melvisharam in the Vellore district.
The Perundurai plant tender includes the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, operating and maintenance for a six-month period (post-commissioning) of a pre-treatment system and RO system with a capacity of 600m³ per day. The proposed plant is expected to treat the first phase of tannery effluent from the CETP installed at the Sipcot Industrial Growth Centre, which will be undertaken by Perundurai Leather Industries Eco Security Private Limited (PLIES).
An improved evaporation system is also being planned in Perundurai, involving the implementation of an accelerated solar evaporation system with the capacity to evaporate 150m³ per day. The RO system for Melvisharam is similar to the proposed plant at Perundurai. It will treat the tannery effluent from the CETP installed at Melvisharam Tanners Enviro Control Systems Pvt Ltd.
An accelerated solar evaporation system with a capacity of 150m³ per day is also planned for the company.
