Texas-based specialty leather retailer Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. has donated more than 100,000 leathercraft kits to Help Hospitalized Veterans (HHV), a nonprofit organisation headquartered in California. Founded in 1971, HHV was established to distribute free therapeutic arts and craft kits to veterans and active duty military personnel receiving medical treatment. It currently distributes kits to 282 facilities, including military installations overseas, military ships, state veterans homes, VA medical centres and outpatient clinics.

Tandy CEO and president Ron Morgan commented, “HHV is a quality organisation committed to the enhancement of our veterans’ quality of life. Tandy Leather was built on Charles Tandy’s belief that a leathercraft company could be successful due to the large quantities of leathercraft supplies being used in military hospitals and recreation centres during World War II.”
