A number of representatives from the Pakistani leather sector and the country's top eleven tanning companies will participate at the India International Leather Fair (IILF), to be held in Chennai, India, from January 31 to February 3.

The space allocated to the Pakistani pavilions has been increased to 144 m² compared with 72 m² at last year’s event.

Deputy secretary of the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) told www.leatherbiz.com that tanners will mainly display cow, goat and sheep hides and skins for garment and footwear manufacture.

Although Pakistan already exports leather to India  companies are looking for new ways to penetrate the Indian market. As part of this strategy, a Pakistani trade delegation will also visit India in June or July.
