A new report—published by Dublin-based Research and Markets—entitled ‘Fur and Leather Apparel Manufacturing Industry in the US and its Foreign Trade (1996-2008)’ forecasts a positive trend in the production of leather and fur garments in the USA.
The report states that net sales for the US manufacturing sector are expected to reach $5 trillion in 2006 and US economists have projected a further 5% to 7% growth in 2007. The report provides information on domestic production as well as import and export data. It looks at the different products in the sector and analyses their contributions. The foreign trade data includes ten years of statistics, and is projected into 2008.
It also compares the industry’s producer price index with that of the manufacturing sector, the wholesale sub-sectors and the related retail sub-sectors.
