Pakistan is seeking Argentinean technical assistance in relation to the development of its livestock sector. A formal request for assistance was made at a meeting between the country’s minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan, and Argentinean ambassador, Mr H.E. Rodolfo Martin Saravia.
Mr Bosan said that the government has commenced a Livestock and Dairy Development Programme to address the problem of meat shortages as well as corporate farming programmes which require additional expertise in training.
The ambassador assured Mr Bosan that Argentina would assist Pakistan in promoting its agriculture sector and suggested a Pakistani agricultural delegation should visit Argentina to explore new opportunities for co-operation in the sector.
