Price of sacrificial animals rises in UAE

According to animal traders at the Dubai cattle market sacrificial animals have become more expensive in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the market has witnessed a 25% increase in livestock prices. This year prices have soared due to the large volume of re-exports of animals to Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to the media the head of the Cattle Markets Section, Khalil Esmail, said
animal prices, especially those imported from Iran, have risen significantly this year. However, he stressed that there was no shortage of livestock animals are also imported from India, Australia and Somalia.
