India and Botswana sign leather promotion MoU

India is seeking to expand its imports of raw material from abroad to meet its export target for the leather sector and Botswana is seen as a good source— with a 300,000 strong cattle population, the country currently exports approximately 350,000 tons of hides per annum to Italian and South African car interior and furniture manufacturers and other leather specialists.
