Quick estimates of index for leather industry

The Central Statistics Organisation of the Indian government has released its Quick Estimates of Index for Industrial Production (IIP) in October. The general index stands at 237.7, 6.2% higher than the level in October 2005.
Despite 12 of the 17 industry groups included showing positive growth in October compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, leather and leather and fur products fell by 8.3%.
