Sri Lankan leather exports decline

According to figures released by
Sri Lanka’s Customs and Central Bank, the country’s exports of leather and leather goods declined by 23% to $16.14 million from January to September compared with $20.94 million in the corresponding period last year. On a more positive note, footwear exports increased by 43.52% to $13 million compared with $9 million.

Total exports totalled $5.02 billion for the nine-month period, of which leather exports accounted for $29.14 million.
