Mariella Burani Fashion Group posts higher revenues

05/12/2006

Italian luxury goods company, Mariella Burani Fashion Group, realised revenue growth of 51.1% for the first nine months of the year to reach €539 million, compared with €356.6 million in the same period last year. This included the proceeds from the IPO of the group’s leather goods subsidiary, Antichi Pellettieri SpA, on June 7, which is said to have significantly influenced both revenue and profit indicators of the period.

Net sales growth was attributed to organic growth from the strong performance of the group’s leather goods division (Antichi Pellettieri), driven primarily by the Braccialini, Baldinini, and Francesco Biasia brands; export markets, particularly in ‘emerging’ luxury markets that reflected an average growth of 40.5% and today account for 24.9% of group revenues; a strong performance by the group’s retail stores, driven by 37.8% growth its leather goods division; and external growth from the first time consolidation of Coccinelle SpA, an Italian handbag designer, manufacturer, and distributor.
