Brazilian leather exports increase

According to statistics released by the Brazilian Department of Foreign Trade (Secex), the country’s leather exports rose to $1,500 million in October, following a decline in September. October exports increased 8% compared with September, and 54% compared with October 2005.

Wet blue exports were 44% higher than in October last year and finished leather exports rose by 39%.

For the first ten months of the year, total leather exports increased 32% compared with the same period in 2005.
