21/11/2006

The Italian trade commission in
Karachi and the Italian Association of Manufacturers of Footwear, Leather Goods and Tanning Machinery, have invited ten Pakistani delegates from the tanning industry to take part in a one-week training course in Italy.

The course, which is aimed at company owners, technical directors and managers, will cover subjects such as trends and technology in leather processing and the treatment of tannery effluents. It will also include visits to tanneries, chemical suppliers, effluent plants and sector associations, as well as business-to-business meetings.

The training will be almost entirely funded by the Italian government with the aim of strengthening ties between the tanning sectors in Italy and Pakistan.
