Vietnam increases footwear and leather accessories exports

According to the Vietnamese General Statistics Office, the country exported footwear worth $250 million in October. Total exports for the period January to October totalled $2.871 billion, a growth of approximately 19.6%, compared with the $2.4 billion reported in the same prior-year period.

Vietnam also exported handbags, wallets, suitcases and umbrellas worth $40 million in October. The total reached $407 million in the ten-month period, 3.3% higher than the $394 million worth of goods exported in the same period of 2005.
