Sales tax refunds hopeful for Pakistan’s leather garment manufacturers

Pakistan’s sales tax collector has agreed to accelerate the processing of sales tax refund claims worth Rs42 million ($691,927) made by the country’s leather garment manufacturers. With claims being held up, exporters are said to be facing significant liquidity problems. This situation prompted a meeting between representatives of the Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers’ & Exporters’ Association and the sales tax collector, which proved positive in resolving the problem.
