India plans Italy, Romania and Portugal road shows

India’s Council for Leather Exports (CLE) is planning road shows in Italy, Romania and Portugal later this year to help boost leather exports as part of the Intechmart Scheme of the Indian government. The delegation will comprise manufacturers and exporters of leather and leather products, including footwear.

Indian Minister for Commerce & Industry Shri Kamal Nath is also expected to lead a high level delegation to Italy organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) from November 6-8. The leather sector is one of the four identified industrial sectors to form part of the delegation.

The delegation will explore the possibility of attracting direct investments from foreign entrepreneurs, joint ventures and technical collaborations between Indian and foreign companies within the leather industry.
