Slaughter resumed in Botswana
Botswana’s Department of Animal Health and Production has lifted a ban on slaughtering cattle from Ngamiland, Boteti and other zones at Botswana Meat Commission abattoirs, which was implemented following an outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease earlier this year.
The lifting of the ban means that the slaughter of cattle from Ngamiland, Boteti and other areas that export to non-EU countries can now be resumed as of early October, as the disease is now under control.
