Smith & Wesson and Wilsons enter licensing agreement

Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation, the parent company of Smith & Wesson Corp., has entered into a licensing agreement with Wilsons Leather Holdings Inc., the inventory holding company of specialty retailer of leather apparel and accessories, Wilsons Leather.

Under the agreement, Wilsons Leather will develop and market an exclusive line of Smith & Wesson leather jackets, as well as a range of accessory items including belts, handbags, and wallets, developed for the requirements of the military, law enforcement personnel, fire fighters, and other emergency personnel, as well as the sportsman.

Bobbie Hunnicutt, Smith & Wesson's vice president of Licensing, said, "Through its wholesale distribution to multiple channels of trade, Wilsons Leather will enable us to reach millions of existing Smith & Wesson fans, as well as new fans, who seek to show their loyalty to the brand by wearing Smith & Wesson leather products. In addition, Wilsons Leather will be working with specific focus groups to design a comfortable and functional line of Smith & Wesson outerwear for law enforcement personnel."
