DaimlerChrysler Canada has reported a significant increase in sales in August.

The number of units sold totalled 20,252, including 4,176 cars and 16,076 trucks.

Compared with August 2005, sales for the month were up 13.1%. However, car sales decreased 5.1% whilst truck sales increased 19.1%.

Sales for the year-to-date remained nearly flat at -1.1% with car sales down

0.1% and trucks down 1.5%.
