Dutch leather chemicals company Stahl BV has reported the recent deaths of two well-known personalities in the UK leather industry, Len Kershaw and Mervyn Alcock.
Len Kershaw worked for Stahl UK Limited as export manager in the late 1970s. He began his career in the leather industry at Midland Leather Company where he worked as technical director for many years. He attended the Leathersellers’ College in London. Following his time with Stahl, Mr Kershaw worked for a number of shoe and leathergoods tanners in the north of England.
Mervyn Alcock started his leather career with the Gomshall Group after qualifying at the British School of Leather Technology in Northampton. He worked for Connolly Leather for ten years before joining Stahl Europe in 2002 as a member of the company’s global Automotive Technical team. During his time with Stahl he visited places such as South America, China, Japan, Singapore and India.
