Nebraska-based casual apparel, footwear and accessories retailer The Buckle, Inc. has reported a 12.1% decrease in net income for the second quarter ended July 29, 2006. Net income totalled $6.6 million compared with $7.6 million for the second quarter of 2005. Net income for the six months ended July 29 declined 1.1% to $16 million compared with $16.2 million for the same period in 2005.

Net sales decreased 1.7% to $102.4 million compared with net sales of $104.1 million for the corresponding period in 2005. Net sales for the first six months of 2006 increased 1.1% to $212 million compared with $209.7 million in the first six months of fiscal 2005.
