LVMH results beat forecasts

France-based luxury products group LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton has reported revenue of 6,968 million for the first half of 2006, reflecting organic growth of 12% compared with the first half of 2005. This growth was fairly consistent in both the first and second quarters, and came on top of high organic growth of 12% in the second quarter of 2005.

Within its Fashion & Leather Goods division, the company reported 12% organic growth. Revenue for this sector in the first half of 2006 was 2,466 million compared with 2,196 million in the comparable period in 2005. The new monogram perforé and suede lines along with the new models in the denim line were among the top selling products. Fendi also continued to perform well.
