Reports indicate that over 3,000 live crocodiles were exported from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from January to June. Over 1,200 crocodile skins and 1,125 kilogrammes of crocodile meat were exported during the same period.

There are four reptile farms in the city, all of which are licensed to export crocodiles under the CITES regulations. These farms have registered to raise a collective total of almost 35,000 crocodiles in 2006.
