26/06/2006

Ivor Tilley has retired after eleven years as a non-executive director on the board of UK-based research and technology centre Satra board.

Mr Tilley had long been associated with the supply of materials and components to the footwear industry, initially through Chamberlain Phipps and then through his own company, Shoemat. He became a director of BUSM when it acquired Shoemat and has just bought NPS Shoes, a UK footwear manufacturer.

He has become an honorary member of Satra, a position offered in recognition of his service to the technology centre.
