Danier Leather comments on decision to grant appeal

Canadian designer, manufacturer and retailer of leather and suede clothing and accessories Danier Leather Inc. has commented on the decision of the Supreme Court of Canada to grant plaintiffs leave to appeal the unanimous decision of the Ontario Court of Appeal that dismissed the class action suit concerning the company's initial public offering.

President and CEO Jeffrey Wortsman said, "It's important to note that by this decision the Supreme Court has only agreed to hear the matter; it has not made any finding on the merits of the plaintiffs' claims. We will continue to assert - as the Ontario Court of Appeal held in its unanimous decision - that the company met its disclosure obligations in the prospectus issued in connection with the company's initial public offering in 1998, and that the trial judge erred in finding that any misrepresentation had occurred."

The company expects the appeal to be heard by the Supreme Court before the end of June 2007.
