Stahl Asia Pte. Ltd was recently one of fifty Singapore companies to be presented with Global Trader Certificates acknowledging the company’s status as a Global Trader under the country’s International Enterprise (IE) agency’s Global Trader Programme (GTP). The certificate marking the award was presented to Rodney Hammond, managing director, by the Minister for Trade and Industry, Lim Hng Kiang.
Singapore’s IE launched the GTP in June 2001 to develop and recognise international trading activities. Companies awarded the GTP status can enjoy a concessionary tax rate on qualifying income. The scheme also encourages global companies who use Singapore as a regional or global trading base to conduct activities providing value-added input along the chain from procurement to distribution.
