Bima introduces new leather inspection table

13/06/2006

German machinery manufacturer BIMA Maschinenfabrik has introduced a new pneumatically actuated finished leather inspection table to detect visible defects.

The leather is stretched on the table so that grain faults and colour variations can be seen more easily so that substandard points or areas can be marked manually.

The Bima table has a collection tray where the leather is fed into a clamping device. The leather is then spread evenly in the clamping area, causing no distortion and feed-through is rapid after measurement. Leather is presented flat and no manual smoothing out is needed. The inspection area slopes, avoiding parallax errors and ensuring full visual access. ‘Daylight’ lighting with an asymmetric distribution reflector can also be fitted.
