Lanxess to create single sales centre

09/06/2006

Germany chemical company Lanxess is to combine its marketing and sales activities for leather chemicals in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) into one regional centre. Until now there have been two separate centres – one for Northern Europe in Leverkusen, Germany, and one for Southern Europe in Milan, Italy. The two centres will be combined at the Milan site in order to improve efficiency.

Michael Thamm has been appointed as regional head of Marketing and Sales EMEA and will transfer to Milan at the beginning of July. He joined the Bayer Group in 1988 and has experience in the former Dyes and Pigments Business Group, as well as having been head of the company’s Leather Business unit in Brazil. He also spent three years in product management in the finishing department at the Leverkusen site.
