Tandy Leather Factory enjoys 17% May sales increase

Specialty leather retailer Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. has reported May sales totalling $4.5 million, an increase of 17% from $3.9 million in May last year. Year-to-date sales were also up 13% to $23.3 million from $20.7 million last year.
Retail Leathercraft posted a 37% sales increase for May, with sales of $1.7 million compared with $1.3 million in 2005. Year-to-date sales for Retail Leathercraft were $9 million this year, a 29% increase over sales of $6.9 million for the same period of 2005.
Within the Wholesale Leathercraft division, comparable wholesale centres' sales were $2.2 million for May, up 9% from May 2005 sales of $2 million. Year-to-date sales for were $13.5 million compared with $12.9 million in 2005, an increase of 5%.
