Quimser introduces new products
As a result of the high demand for white leather, Spanish leather chemical company Quimser has developed several new products specifically designed for white leather ranging from retannage to fatliquoring.
Sertan ELB is said to offer improved lightfastness and white colour. It has been developed for any kind of white leather in answer to the market needs. It is completely synthetic and produces a deep white in combination with the new fatliquors and retanning agents produced by Quimser.
Sertan DCB is a modified melamine and Sertan D3 ia a modified dicyandiamide, both of which produce a good filling effect, grain flexibility and light fastness.
On the polymeric side, Sertan ARC and Sertan DCL liquid complexed polymers ensure a complete distribution all through the leather, and produce fullness with a firm grain. These can be used at any stage of the process thanks to their high stability.
Sertan EL LIQ is retanning phenol of general use for fullness with excellent light resistance, as is Sertan BSF in a powder version.
Sertan W is a dioxiphenil sulphonic product. It is a bleaching syntan, that is lightfast and improves the evenness of the dyeing. Its use in the retanning of chrome tanned leather creating a tight and flat grain, with excellent buffing ability.
The company has also launched new fatliquors—synthetics, crude, sulphated and sulphited oils. Both Seroil TL and Seroil PB-2 are sulphated synthetic triglycerids. These fats give a maximum fullness, softness and natural handle. Seroil TTK and Seroil N are sulphited vegetable and sulphited-synthetic fatliquors for very soft articles. These fats are said to have very good fixing properties to the leather fibre. As they have good stability to electrolytes they can be also used as prefatting oil in tanning baths.
