Smit & Zoon introduces new single-fatliquor

17/05/2006

Netherlands-based chemical company Smit & Zoon has introduced Synthol UF 737, a new single-fatliquor which is said to simplify processes in the tannery.

Whereas conventional fatliquoring is often based on three or four fatliquors, Synthol UF 737 can be used alone, which makes mixing different products and emulsifying behaviour less critical. This, in turn, simplifies the tanning process and is said to lead to fewer mistakes. Furthermore, by using one single product, logistics and handling on the factory floor are also simplified.

Synthol UF 737 is a versatile fatliquor developed for a wide range of bag and upper leathers. It is applied on neutralised stock for pre- and main fatliquoring. The degree of softness is adjustable by varying the percentage applied. According to the company, grain tightness and handle are uniform in all areas and neck wrinkles are flattened and less pronounced when using this new product.
