Production of Porsche Carrera GT ends

10/05/2006

The manufacture of what is often referred to as the most successful super car in history has come to an end. Production of the Carrera GT at Porsche's facility in Leipzig, Germany, ceased on Saturday, May 6, bringing to a close the latest series in a line of ultra-performing vehicles from Porsche.

Even in an economic climate that did not favour luxury products in this segment, more than 1,270 Carrera GTs have been sold since its introduction in late 2003.

Air conditioning, GPS navigation, a Bose audio system, and a fitted, five-piece, matched-leather luggage set are all standard equipment.
