Young designers awarded at Lineapelle

Italian, Czech and British designers won awards at the 37th Young Designers Contest which took place during the recent Lineapelle.

200 participants took part in the competition which presented awards for three different categories: footwear, leather garments and a comprehensive category for bags, leathergoods and leather objects.

The jury, composed of members of the Trend Selection Fashion Committee, awarded seven prizes to the best creations, based on their innovation and design.

In the footwear category, first prize was awarded to Liam Fahy from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK; second prize went to Raffaella Giraldo from Politecnico Calzaturiero in Vigonza, Italy, whilst the third prize was won by Adam Villa, also from De Montfort University in the UK.

Micol Ragni (d'arte G.Cantalamessa) from Macerata, Italy took first prize in the design and leather goods section, with Anja Grubic & Alice Visin and Luigi Todescato, all from Politecnico – Milan, Italy taking the second and third prizes respectively. Finally, Jakub Szajko & Petra Matuŝinska from the Higher School of Fashion Designing in Prague, Czech Republic won the top honour in the leather garments category.

The jury also presented a special award to designs by Alessandra Congiu, Letitia Contardo, Mauro Maruccia, and Marco Pizzato.
